I found the intrigue aspect of this book to be compelling. I read the first half one evening and then had to go to bed. I found myself dreaming that I was in the position of having to protect others from danger like a bodyguard. Obviously it had an impact on me. I kinda guessed who the “bad guy” was early on but I had no idea why or how or who else might be involved until the reveal. Some of my questions on that part of the story weren’t clearly answered for me but it didn’t detract from the story.
The romance was obvious from the start. No surprises with that. The idea of the bodyguard guarding the dog in order to have access to the star was clever. Especially because they were both Princesses.

I have enjoyed the Hastings brother stories.
