A perfect blend of wit, comedy, suspense, and, of course, romance.
This is NOT your typical romance novel.
Sarah Howard’s first year at the university is everything and nothing she expected—especially when a very cute boy named Ben in her Art History class starts to show interest in her.
Sarah feels like she’s an average, normal, everyday girl. So, when Ben (to whom she secretly refers as Adonis because she thinks he could be a Greek god) begins to take interest in her, Sarah is in denial. For one thing, last year she was deeply crushed and humiliated by “Jesse James”—a guy who she thought liked her. She’s determined not to get burned again. But in her heart of hearts, what she really wants is a Jane Austen kind of romance.
Ridiculous, right? That kind of romance doesn’t exist anymore . . . or does it? Sarah is smart and fun to be around and even pretty, despite her Medusa-like red curls. She even plays the guitar. (So does Ben!) Yes, Sarah is everything Ben has wanted. He’s crazy for her, but Sarah is just not getting it. She’s playing hard to get, and if she’s not careful, she’s going to lose a real “hot” gentleman—her 21st-century Mr. Darcy.
That book sounds awesome and one of a kind. Something that is a great read and full of everything I like in a book.
Darling, darling, darling! This was an adorable story about a very normal (and easy to relate to) girl, and a charming (and not in that I'm so cool- look at me kinda way) guy. It was a light read with a simple plot about just trying to figure life out. Everyone has felt like Sarah at some time,…and I still wanted to shake her. I loved Ben (aka Adonis) and enjoyed the way we got to experience his feelings- which is not done often enough in this genre. I loved the quick wit and often self deprecating scenes throughout. It left me smiling 🙂
Sweet love story that made me smile the whole time I was reading it. (even when Sarah was being dense- I could relate). It made me think that there are always second chances in love.
I truly enjoyed this book and its fair tale feeling. I love how someone so supposedly ordinary(at least in her mind) could find and attract a man who is in her opinion out of her league. There is hope for us girls that don't follow the media looks. Yea for the underdog!
I enjoyed this book. By the end I loved it and was so glad things worked out. I struggled with the writing style for quite awhile but finally the story and humor won me over.
