Joanna Barker discovered her love for historical fiction after visiting England as an eleven-year-old, and subsequently read every Jane Austen book she could get her hands on. After graduating Brigham Young University with a degree in English, she worked as an acquisitions editor before devoting herself full-time to writing. Sweet clean romance. I love the uniting thread between the books in this series. These lovely school girlfriends who make a pact and are a support to each other as they have trials in life. They pass around a bracelet to whoever is most in need of it. It always seems to end up with the person who needs it most. It is an enjoyable series.
I love Ms. Barker’s writing style and enjoyed reading this story. It is about a young woman with disappointed hopes, a caring aunt and awful parents. And a very handsome childhood friend of course. Perfect length for an evening’s read.
