A bachelor auction, a hot football player, and the right woman to bring him to his knees.

Izzy Knight walked away from her father’s billions and his Titans football team to become a nurse practitioner at a children’s hospital. She’s busy and accomplished and certainly has no room in her life for a larger-than-life football player who goes through women faster than she completes a shift at the hospital.

Xavier Newton loves football but hates the games that go along with it. When the owner of the Titans forces him and his buddies to be sold like cattle at a bachelor auction he barely endures the event, until a feisty brunette bids half a million dollars for him. He’s completely drawn to Izzy, but when he finds out her father is the owner of the Titans sparks fly and everybody’s loyalties are challenged.

Can these two find love when they don’t know who’s waiting to tackle them from the blindside?

This book is part of the Texas Titan Romances series by multiple authors. The individual books may be read in any order.

I really did want to like this book but I had a problem right from the beginning and it ruined everything else for me. X basically sexually assaulted her by kissing her after she said no. I was glad she slapped him but then she started going along with it and I couldn’t move past it bothering me. She says she doesn’t like him but she is willing to kiss anyway. I could maybe see it toward the end of their day-long date perhaps but this was right at the beginning.
It took me quite a while to begin to like X. (see above paragraph). I didn’t like him until he showed that he was kind to his mama and sought to help kids in need. Then I started to think he was a good guy. I was bugged that he would go along with his agent who was a creep even though he didn’t like what was happening. He is a big time star. He ought to be able to call the shots. Not the other way around.
And Izzy I didn’t like because she didn’t keep to her guns even though she had in many ways in her adult life. Her daddy trust problems were based on not trying to communicate which was initially her daddy’s fault rather than hers since she was still a kid but she could have confronted her dad as an adult. She dropped everything she had been adhering to when Xavier entered the picture. Then it seemed like she didn’t have a backbone. I just didn’t really like her.
There were some high drama moments in the story that were a bit odd but at least one of them was a catalyst to get that daddy/daughter confrontation that was needed for the resolve.
The romance starts fast and runs hard but mostly just physically. They are ready to get married in a short period of time but it feels like they just have an attraction and like to kiss. A lot. Enough with the kissing.
All that being said, if you like a kissing book, then this one might suit well. I think if the first part of their date doesn’t bother you like it did me, then you might like the story because that is where my dislike stemmed from.

    Sex: innuendo, lots of kissing
    Language: no
Violence: yes – slaps, held at knife point, pushed off cliff causing a near drowning, kidnapping, fight with kidnappers
