Life has always been about the game for pro-hockey player Tyler Nelson, but when he meets attorney Lindsey Gerber, Tyler discovers his feelings for Lindsey are anything but a game.

Crash and burn pretty much describes Lindsey Gerber’s last six months at her law firm where she hoped to make partner. Now, every goal she’s made is suddenly out the window. She moves to Pine Valley, looking for a new start. On day one, she meets pro-hockey player Tyler Nelson, who’s recovering from an injury and in a physical therapy program that includes nature things like hiking the ski resort, which he hates, and makes no secret of. He also makes no secret of his interest in Lindsey. Their lives are two worlds apart though, and it will take one of them changing everything to make a relationship work.

I think the meet-cute in this story was great. Despite drastically misreading the situation, it was great that Tyler was willing to step up to defend a woman rather than turn away from what could potentially be a bad situation.

I liked Lindsey and Tyler over all but I wanted more from Lindsey. I feel like a woman strong enough to think she can be a partner in a law firm should probably be able to stand up for herself. I wanted her to tell the predator that her name isn’t Lind and to stop texting her and stop bringing her lunch. And to point out that her eyes are on her face, not below her neck etc…. Then I wanted her to march down to the HR department and report the sleazebag. She handled everything far too quietly to suit me. It all works out in the end of course but I wanted so much more from that situation.

I felt like the relationship between Lindsey and Tyler was based more on physical attraction than on how well they knew each other. I wasn’t really feeling it between them but that could be because I don’t really enjoy kissing scenes very much. I’m always more interested in what leads up to the kiss than the kissing itself. And there was a lot of kissing. This book will be loved by those that enjoy the Clean with Steam element but I’m not one of those. Kissing scenes bore me. I just want to get on with the story. But that’s just me.

The hockey was maybe underplayed in the story and thankfully not really violent. But how does a pro hockey player play without a current contract? I was rather confused by that one.

Overall the romance is a light read and probably predictable but I’m confident that many will love this book.

    Sex: lots of kissing
    Language: some
Violence: sexual harassment in the workplace

  2. All For You is a wonderful story that seems a bit different from the past books in the series. Yes it takes place in Pine Valley, but the difference that stood out to me most, is that in this one, neither of the main characters is from Pine Valley. I thought Heather B. Moore did a great job with this one and I loved the unique tie in of hockey and traveling to make things work while following your dreams.

This story flowed so well and there was a good amount of chemistry between Lindsey and Tyler, and lets be honest, how they met definitely cracked me up. While this isn’t my favorite from the series, it’s a great read that I do recommend. I really enjoyed being able to watch the characters in All For You grow and help each other improve and follow their dreams, as well as watching them grow together. They had both gone through some tough situations and made the best of them.
