Treasure stared in horror at her grandma. It was just starting to dawn on her. This wasn’t just Grammy’s story. It could be her story too. Was this her future? It seemed as grim and dour as Grammy’s old housecoat. She stood up and blurted out, “And now you’re saying I have this gift? What a lousy, stinking gift. How can you even call this a gift?”

With her goofy hair, awkward manners, and love of ugly sweaters, Treasure Blume isn’t your average first-grade teacher. But when you add in her family curse (or gift, as her grammy calls it), Treasure know it’s going to take a miracle for a guy to date her, let alone marry her—especially when it seems that every person she meets instantly dislikes her.

That is, until she matches wits with Dennis Cameron, a divorced chef who just happens to work in the elementary school’s cafeteria and whose six-year-old daughter is in Treasure’s class. But just as things finally appear to be going Treasure’s way, her “gift” causes unexpected problems.

  1. I REALLY LIKED this book!
This book had me laughing with Treasure and her quirky mannerisms… and of course her spunky grammy… and crazy sweaters…
    BUT…
    it also had me…feeling…
Feeling the tenderness of a woman as she just goes about trying to do what she thinks is right…and what she thinks will help at the time…
But somehow everyone she meets dislikes her…is that a curse…or a blessing?
