Loud shrieks sliced the air, followed by the smell of burning cloth. Conner looked over in time to see Geoffrey jumping up and down, yelling and shrieking. Smoke poured from the seat of his shorts while blue and yellow sparks snap-crackle-and-popped all around the heater.

All thirteen-year-old Connor Dell wants to do is pass pre-algebra, play lacrosse, and possibly kiss Melanie Stephens. He didn’t mean to set anyone’s gym shorts on fire or make school lunches explode. But now that the strange powers inside him have been ignited, Connor’s normal teenage life is about to go up in flames!

Homework? Of course. Crushes? Sure. But who knew seventh grade included superpowers?

Link is fixed in post now. Braden, you sent me the corrected one and I thought I’d fixed it but apparently I didn’t. Sorry.

  2. What an AMAZING, ENTICING, FUN book!
    So well written!

Thrilling, fantastic, enchanting, electrifying, captivating, gripping, did I say fun?
    SO GOOD!
    I couldn’t stop reading!
All ages will enjoy this tale!

Middle school can be pretty crazy and pretty intimidating…especially if you have a secret…A secret so deep that you don’t even know about it!

When crazy things start to happen to Conner, Lexa and Melanie… like gym shorts of the bully starting on fire, hockey sticks getting broken in a flash, strange men stalking them, teachers always underfoot, and feelings that come true…questions arise.

Questions that lead to the discovery of the secret that they are KINDLING…

Such a FUN, ENTHRALLING, CAPTIVATING story!

I received this book in a giveaway it was a great book. I gave my copy to my husband who added it to his classroom library.

I didn’t like this one quite as much as I thought I would — and I’m not sure I can put my finger on exactly why. It’s a great middle-grade adventure and I really like the underlying messages about light vs. dark. My daughter absolutely loved it, however, and I hope my other kids will read it. But for me it just felt a little too predictable in spots.
