  1. I loved this book! This author is great at humor and weaving that into an intriguing story with solid characters. This premise of online dating is great. I always look forward to see what she’ll write next.

This book had me laughing at the banter between the two main characters and at the same time yelling at the characters to just talk to each other. If you have ever had a crush on your older brother/sisters best friend, or just lost faith in finding the one, this book takes you through the unlikely, the crushing, and the hilarious to an ending that will leave you smiling.

I’ve enjoyed all of Melanie Jacobson’s books and will read anything she writes. This was another great contemporary story, although probably not my favorite of hers. This story seemed like it spent a lot of time on analyzing emotions rather than plot action — I had mixed feelings about it. I thought it was good in the sense that the emotions felt very realistic and gave some good insight about emotional maturity, but on the other hand I wanted a little more action to the story. I also had a hard time with the ending — seemed out of character in several ways, but I’m not complaining much! Melanie’s books always make me smile.

  4. I could not put this book down. I started it first thing in the morning thinking I’d read a chapter or two, but six hours later my toddler was still in pajamas (at least she was fed). Hannah is such a conflicted character, full of contrasts. She is an extremely smart, professional, together young woman, but when it comes to her relationship with Will, her emotions are all over the place. It’s a fascinating study of unrequited love and the obsession that accompanies it. Balancing out the crazy is Hannah’s friend Sophie, who tells it like it is and encourages Hannah in healthy ways. I loved all the mannerisms and quirks of Hannah and Will’s friendship, and trying to interpret what Will is thinking since the story is not told from his POV. There are several ups and downs, twists and turns in the plot that kept me glued to the book to see how it would all play out.

I absolutely loved this book! I have a serious best friends falling for each other thing. This just nurtured it. The whole book had a tug feeling to it that just kept dragging me back. I never wanted to set it down.

My favorite scene was when Hannah had her migraine headache only to have Will find her on the floor in pain. I think that was the sweetest scene ever! I loved how he was so gentle and kind. I loved that he knew exactly how to take care of her in this situation; he cared about her enough to remember what to do to help her. He didn’t fumble or freak out, he was just there to help her in every way possible. Then he looked up ways to ease her pain, just so that she would heal faster. And let’s just face it, every girl loves to have their hair played with, so it was a serious win-win for Hannah there. And the fact that he wasn’t even worried about game 7 was a huge deal.

I just love that scene so much. I mean, I finished the book and went right to that chapter and reread that scene because I loved it so much. It was so wonderful. I don’t know how to put it into words, but I can’t handle how sweet this book was. Definitely going on my “reread until I die” shelf.
