When she was in Paris, Kimberley Montpetit spent most of her souvenir money at the La Patisserie shops with their beautiful and delicious pastries. She grew up in the fabulous city of San Francisco, loves all things chocolate, and now lives in a small town along the Rio Grande with her engineer husband and three sons.
I enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book quite a bit. Trying to figure out where a missing body disappeared to would be daunting and it was interesting to see them follow the clues to figure it out. And thank heavens for the DNA testing of modern times to be able to get definitive answers.
I liked the mystery part of the book a little better than the romance part. I had a hard time feeling the transition from interesting stranger to love interest. There is a lot of kissing (nothing more than that) but I’m always more interested in what led up to the kissing than the kissing itself so I felt like I didn’t get enough of that.
I liked both Emma and Travis. They had interesting careers to read a little about. Not career choices I read a lot about in romance novels. Each of the Ambrose sisters have been interesting characters.
I have enjoyed this series. The whole idea of a family curse is intriguing. The journal the sisters get clues from is terribly sad even if it does have a happier ending. I was glad to see they got so many answers to their family questions about the curse and previous generations of family. I look forward to reading about the other sisters.
