When wits and steel clash, Lord Cottrell and the Heiress of Cassis find their love stretched between five centuries.

1347 Cassis, Provence
As the only surviving member of the reigning noble family, the Plague has taken everyone from Isabel. All she has left is the chateau and her honor. As the Heiress of Cassis, she is betrothed to an enemy and vows to uphold her father’s promise and the marriage bargain he made. But when a man from another time invades her home, her heart betrays her and she must choose between loyalty and love.

1854 England
Lord James Cottrell, the heir apparent to an earldom and Crane Estate, wants little to do with the provincial life of Victorian England, preferring to time travel at his pleasure. As an additional diversion, he picks up valuables from various centuries for customers. When he accepts the challenge to bring an elderly relative five hundred years into the future, he instead finds a stunning beauty holding a sword at his throat.

As the bond between Isabel and James intensifies, their futures become more uncertain—and more dangerous. The power of love is no match for the power of the Black Death, but James must risk his life for the one woman who commands his heart.

I think this may be my favorite of the books I’ve read in the Twickenham manor series. I loved that there was so much focus on Aunt Nellie. She is such an interesting character. I like to spend more time with her. And while I don’t typically read time travel books I find this series very fun. Loved the story. Loved that they were in three different time periods. Loved the characters. This was an enjoyable read.
