Fat-free cheese is okay—unless you’ve tasted real cheese. Then it seems a pathetic imitation; something lacking authenticity. Juliet Easton learns this about love too as she uncovers who truly loves her, and who is using her to get to the secret she knows about the disappearance of her sister’s fiancé, Will, and the pharmaceutical conspiracy he plans to reveal.
The deeper Juliet digs, the more obvious it becomes that someone close to her is feeding P&L Pharmaceuticals information about where to find Will and the work she’s doing to help him; work which proves the pharmaceutical company is selling a dirty drug and silencing those who know about it. But who would be willing to put her in danger like that?
Maybe it’s her boyfriend. He has seemed more and more self-absorbed by the day, showing more concern about the weight cream sauce could be adding to her hips than on their relationship. Is he only pretending to care to get to the bottom of the secrets in her past? Or is her boss, with his ambiguous past and financial trouble, using his ties to her family, charming smile and quick-wit to betray her to earn some extra money?

Fantastic! I loved this book. It was a compelling story with real characters that I liked and felt invested in. I loved the mystery, the romance, and the comparison to fat-free cheese.
