He wanted to be a SEAL. End of Story. Until a smokin’, hot blond steals his seat… will true love find a way?

Jack Summerville can’t wait to dust his heels of this small town and start his life in the Navy. When the new girl steals his seat, he never imagined actually liking her enough to allow her to kiss him. Oh yeah, he didn’t allow anything!

Military brat, that’s what Tauni Richfield was. It would take more than a bad attitude dressed like G.I. Joe, to get her to move seats. She was Harvard bound and nothing would stop her. When the guy with the bad attitude shows up to protect her from an intruder, she never expected he would ask her out. Didn’t he know—she wasn’t dating.

When her father tries to force them apart, will true love find a way? Or will all new dreams be forgotten?

This is the story of Jack, the oldest Summerville teenager, and Tauni, a new student at their high school. Both are seniors with dreams and aspirations when they graduate. Jack wants to enlist in the U.S. Navy and become a SEAL; Tauni wants to fulfill her dead mother’s dream and attend Harvard.
This book is well written and includes all the angst that goes with teenage love. The characters are lovable and I adored the dynamics of the Summerville family (they make me wish I was one of the nine kids!). Tauni, on the other hand, is the daughter of an active U.S. SEAL who is gone more than he is home. Her father and his rules are stifling and controlling, even when he is deployed. As Jack and Tauni spend time together, their feelings deepen and they find themselves in unchartered territory. Neither is prepared to fall in love.
If you like reading new adult romances, the Summerville family series is a sure bet.
