Indefinite Hiatus

I have been running Storytellers in Zion, in various iterations since 2006. That’s 17 years, folks! I was amazed when I did the math.

This has always been a project that was close to my heart—and it still is. I love books. I love authors. I especially love helping Latter-day Saint novelists get a little extra promo boost.

In December of 2021, I announced I was taking a temporary health hiatus from Storytellers in Zion. I thought it would last a few weeks, a month at most.

Now two years later, I am slowly getting some of the health issues resolved. I’ve tried to bring the blog back, brainstormed possibilities, made efforts to keep the two reading challenges going. But it’s time to admit that, right now it’s beyond me and this hiatus is going to be much longer.

I truly hope that someday, when life is a little more settled, I can once again start posting and promoting for all the wonderful LDS authors out there, so many of whom have become dear friends.

In the meantime, I’ll be shutting down parts of the site (new posts, giveaways, reading challenges) but keeping the existing book posts live.

Readers:

I’ll keep the Facebook Storytellers in Zion Readers group open. If I happen to see a promo from an LDS author while I’m scrolling through my feed, I’ll share it in the group.

Authors:

Keep writing! Because I will certainly keep reading!

  1. I have so appreciated your site over the last years. I am sorry you have had to take time off for your health. I always thought the only way to find good, clean, books was to go to Deseret book or Seagull book and look around! When I found your web-site I was surprised and thrilled to find out how many hundreds of lds authors are out there publishing books! Your lists gave me names to look up on Amazon etc… to find new books and authors that I had never heard of before. I found many of my favorite authors this way. I tell anyone that is interested about how many are out there and where to look! (including clerks at both above mentioned stores)
When we built our new house 6 years ago I was lucky enough to have enough space to have a library of my own. I have approximately 1,500 books and probably 1,100 of them are novels and historical novels. (I have also found some “Christian authors” and publishers that I enjoy and know I don’t ever need to worry about content.)
Even though you are not adding to your blog – the information that you have left available to us is still very valuable!
    Thank You
