I have to admit I read the end before I finished the book. I disliked the beginning so much that I had to find out if it was worth my time to read it. By the end I really liked it, but I have a hard time with the personality of Savannah, as the main character, and the story seems extra far-fetched.
I'd recommend it to anyone who has liked her books with those disclaimers.
This is one of Betsy's best works! I was impressed with the romance, intrigue, and suspense. She has really outdone herself with this one. She developed her characters so well that I felt as if I really understood them. I loved Savannah and Dane's relationship. She was not about to give up on her beloved. She persevered, even though she didn't know if he would love her back. She just had to have faith that it would all work out. Betsy had me hooked from the very first page of each book. When I reread the first one before reading the second, I found that I understood the characters even better. When I reread the second book before reading the third, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend rereading each one a second time because you get even more out of it. Great job, Betsy! Congratulations on a job well done!
I was disappointed in this book. At the beginning of the series I thought there was a foreshadowing that Dane would once again be an active member of the church. It was very disappointing to me that that never happened.
