After a bitter divorce from her unfaithful husband, Paige moves from Utah to California with her two little boys and vows to make a fresh start. She finds a job at a dental practice that helps her get back on her feet, but it’s the friends she makes at her new book club who help her realize how strong she is and who give her support to carry on as she faces the challenges of being a single mom.

She also meets Derryl, a wonderful, kind, attentive man who treats her right, something her ex never did. Yet Paige struggles to figure out who she is as a woman rather than a wife, how to help her boys adjust to a broken home, and whether she can ever trust a man or love again.

As Paige leans on the book club ladies and Derryl’s everpresent care, one thing becomes clear: healing from the past requires more than a change of address.

  1. I’m torn after reading this book. I liked it, it’s very well written, but it left me unsatisfied. I guess I was hoping for more, and there were lots of unresolved issues.

This is such a unique series — reading basically the same time period from four different character’s point of view. I enjoyed this story about Paige, the only LDS member of the book group.

Just finished listening to the unabridged audio on Paige. Really liked thee book as it went along, but was frustrated when it ended. I understand the author’s intent to have Paige realize she could be her own person without having to rely on anyone else, but it left me wanting her to end it differently. I felt she could have developed the ending into a much more satisfying continuing for Paige and her little family. Too many “well what happened to the ex and his wife…. did they ever come around” and her new interest…. “why couldn’t he start investigating her same beliefs instead of her just ending it.” Readers want to feel really good about a book instead of spending so much time reading and listening to have it end abruptly without feeling satisfied. That is what this book did for both myself and my car of listeners! We are labeling this audio “Don’t bother playing again, and think twice about getting another one from this author.
