Katie Macauley gave up her lifelong dream of returning to Ireland in order to make a home for herself in Hope Springs, Wyoming, but her future has never been so uncertain. Katie’s heart still remains sharply divided between playful Tavish and steady Joseph, though she feels ill-prepared to make a decision. Furthermore, the town is more divided than ever with both the Irish and the Reds stealing property, burning buildings, and endangering lives.

In the midst of the growing unrest, temperatures drop quickly, too quickly, and Irish nightmares of famine and cold resurface as the little Wyoming town struggles to beat the harsh winter. Katie makes one sacrifice after another to keep the peace and help see her loved ones through the difficult days ahead, but will her efforts be enough? Can the town make amends before their hatred consumes them all? And will Katie find the love she has been searching for as well as a home to call her own?

  1. I’ve said it before…
and I am going to say it again…

    I LOVE SARAH M EDEN’S BOOKS!

I love the way she writes!
I love the stories she chooses!

While this setting is different from her other “proper romances” set in England.
I LOVE the ruggedness of this Wyoming setting.
    I love the hardships.
I love the way she portrays the feud between the Irish Road and the Red Road.
I love the determination of one woman trying to bring everyone together even though her life is probably the hardest hit.

Such a touching story and conclusion to Longing for Home — at times heartbreaking and at yet so uplifting and inspiring. I loved it!

I actually liked this book better than the first one. There was more action from the get go. The love triangle is hard to deal with because both of the men are wonderful in their own ways and you don’t want either to be hurt or rejected but she does end up with the right one. But not before going through a whole lot of torment. Because I liked both men, I kinda wished she had made up her mind earlier just so I could have more time to make sure the other one would be loved by someone else.

The last part of the book was a surprise to me though the very ending was not. I needed the happy ending to help me get past the pain of the last third or so of the book.

I loved that the Irish friends she had, while wanting her to marry Tavish were still open and supportive if she were to choose Joseph and even encouraged both men in courting her.

And I was relieved that there was some kind of resolution with Katie’s father. I did not want to believe that a father could be so heartless.
