It isn’t every day an impoverished young gentleman inherits a sizable fortune and an estate. Nickolas Pritchard, not only impoverished and young but a gentleman as well, felt his luck acutely the day just such a remarkable inheritance fell upon him.

The future has never looked brighter for once penniless Nickolas Pritchard. Now in possession of an unforeseen legacy from a distant cousin, he can finally woo the exquisite Miss Castleton, belle of the London Season. What better setting for matchmaking than Ty Mynydd, his ancestral home nestled in the untamed hills of Wales?

Ideal, indeed . . . except for the ghost.

For nearly four hundred years, Gwen has walked the halls of the home in which she lived and died a mysterious death. But despite centuries as the reigning force within her ancient residence, nothing prepares her for the charm and unexpected appeal of Englishman Nickolas. A deep and abiding affection grows between the two, tempered by the unbreakable barrier that separates them. They cannot possibly hope for a happily ever after. There can be no future between a man yet living and a woman long dead.

But how can Nickolas possibly give Gwen up? And how can Gwen face an eternity without Nickolas?

I was a little nervous when I started this book because I’m a chicken when it comes to ghost stories. As I read on I felt she was less like a ghost than I anticipated and then found that this has one of the best endings of any book I have read in a while. I really would like to read more from this author.

  2. WOW! This book is AMAZING!
Nickolas has gone from being impoverished to inheriting~ Y Castell.
A castle where 400 years ago a battle was waged between the Welsh and the English
Only there is a situation in the castle…it is haunted…
Haunted by Gwen, the girl who died during that battle.
As in ALL romance stories…Nickolas and Gwen fall in love…
Can a ghost and a human who is 400 years younger make it work?
Only Sarah Eden can pull a twist that is so tender and so suspenseful and so…
If you like Regency Romances you really need to read this one 🙂

I was not a huge fan of this novel. Sarah Eden’s writing is fabulous, but I just couldn’t get into the believability of a ghost and how she ended the story.
