A famous actress with a price on her head, a hardened security specialist who refuses to admit his love for her. Can they rekindle their simmering romance before it’s too late?

Griff Quinn’s purpose is to save lives, but he never imagined he’d have to protect the very woman he’s been guarding his own heart from. He’s protected numerous people as a SEAL and working for the illustrious Sutton Smith, but that doesn’t make up for the lives he’s taken, and those he’s failed. Scarlett deserves more than he can give, and he won’t allow himself to soften.

Scarlett Lily always wondered when Griff would step back into her life and admit his love for her. Who knew it would take her very life being at risk? The trouble is, Griff isn’t ready to seal their reunion with an Oscar winning kiss. In fact, his cold reception and hardened heart have Scarlett wishing he’d never come back. She needs Griff’s expertise to shield her from the demented fan, but knowing Griff will never love her again and there is no second chance for them is worse than a million-dollar target on her head.

Will Griff’s fear of losing Scarlett make him realize how deep their love is, or will she be left picking up pieces of her broken heart yet again?

I felt like this story spent a long time on the romance and not that much time in battle with the bad guys. I kept waiting for the bad guys to show and it wasn’t happening. Kinda felt a little long in the middle there where nothing was happening. The romance had basically stalled and the intrigue wasn’t happening. I’d been happy to cut some of that out and just move the story along.

I liked Griff quite a bit even if he was a little dense about love. Scarlett sometimes bugged me with being super dramatic and almost a little whiny. But I liked that she was tough and could fight to try to save herself.
